"The Professor" is looking over my shoulder.

Background

I was born in Guernsey (Channel Islands) and moved to the Vancouver area as a child. Art has always been a pleasure but since retirement it is the passion and focus of my life. Watercolour is my chosen medium and I continue to take courses and workshops following my muse and developing my skills. I am the Convener of the Brock House Art  Group, a supportive, inclusive, diverse and thoroughly enjoyable group of artists. I am a Signature Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA). I have participated in group shows and had several solo shows in small commercial venues. My work is in collections nationally and internationally.

Watercolour is my medium often combined with ink. I either matt and frame my watercolours or mount them on cradled panels and varnish them. I continue to experiment with new ways to display my work.

I am inspired by the natural world, enduring cultural monuments and whimsical architectural details seen locally and while travelling. Two recent trips to Haida Gwaai have been both unforgettable and have provided a focus for recent work.  I capture ideas and images with my camera and they inspire both my art and my blog.
